We're currently looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join our team and take ownership of our day 1 planning operation. If you know general haulage inside out and thrive on building efficient, cost\-effective routes, we want to hear from you.

The role

Reporting into the Planning Manager, you'll be responsible for day 1 planning — organising loads, allocating drivers and vehicles, and ensuring every job is scheduled efficiently and delivered on time. You'll be the link between customer service, drivers, and the wider operations team, keeping the fleet moving and our service levels high.

What you'll be doing

  • Planning and scheduling day 1 work across the fleet

  • Allocating drivers, vehicles and loads to maximise efficiency and utilisation

  • Liaising with customers, drivers and subcontractors to keep deliveries on track

  • Managing changes, delays and last\-minute requests calmly and effectively

  • Ensuring compliance with drivers' hours, working time and transport legislation

What we're looking for
  • Proven experience planning within general haulage (essential)

  • Strong knowledge of UK geography and route planning

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure

  • Confident communicator who can build strong relationships with drivers and customers

  • A proactive, solutions\-focused approach

What we offer
  • £35,000 per annum

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm
