Hours: Full Time (40 hours per week Monday 7am – 4pm, Tuesday – Friday 8:30am\-5:30pm)

Outline of role:
The Transport Planner is responsible for the day\-to\-day planning, scheduling, and coordination of the company's in\-house delivery fleet. The role ensures that deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time through effective route planning, vehicle utilisation, and communication with drivers.
Working closely with the Warehouse, Customer Service, and Operations teams, the Transport Planner will play a key role in maintaining service levels, optimising fleet performance, and supporting the continuous improvement of transport operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport Planning \& Coordination
- Plan and schedule all daily deliveries using the company fleet.
- Create efficient delivery routes to maximise vehicle utilisation and minimise operating costs.
- Allocate deliveries to drivers based on location, vehicle capacity, and operational priorities.
- Communicate daily schedules, instructions, and updates to drivers.
- Monitor delivery progress throughout the day and proactively manage delays or issues.
- Adjust routes and schedules where required to meet changing operational demands.
- Ensure delivery commitments and customer expectations are achieved.
- Monitor fleet utilisation and support the efficient use of company vehicles.
- Coordinate vehicle availability with servicing, maintenance, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure drivers operate in accordance with company procedures and Health \& Safety requirements.
- Support investigations into delivery issues and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate transport records, delivery schedules, and operational documentation.
- Monitor transport performance against key operational targets.
- Produce transport\-related reports and performance data as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve route efficiency, service levels, and fleet utilisation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across transport and warehouse operations.
- Assist with transport projects and operational developments as required.
- Carry out any reasonable request from management.
- Support wider operational activities during peak periods when required.
· Must be 18\+ years of age.
· Good communication, organisational, and planning skills.
· Good numerical and literacy skills with strong attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment.
· Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination, or fleet operations.
· Strong understanding of routing and logistics planning (desirable but not essential).
· Experience working with drivers or fleet operations (desirable).
· Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime during peak season.
· Valid driver’s licence (desirable but not essential).
