Transport Planner

We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join our Pallet Distribution team based at Throsk, Stirling.

This is a fast\-paced role where you will be responsible for planning daily deliveries and collections, liaising with drivers, customers and network depots, and ensuring the highest levels of customer service are maintained. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience within the transport, logistics or distribution sector


• Experience with route planning and vehicle utilisation


• Excellent customer service skills


• Excellent timekeeping and attention to detail


• Strong problem\-solving abilities


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask


• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads


• Experience working within a fast\-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines


• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

• Planning daily delivery and collection routes efficiently


• Allocating work and routes to drivers


• Monitoring collections and allocating them throughout the day


• Debriefing drivers and managing manifests and paperwork


• Uploading jobs and maintaining transport management systems


• Liaising with customers, drivers and network depots regarding deliveries and collections


• Handling customer enquiries via telephone and email


• Printing manifests, delivery paperwork and barcode labels


• Monitoring vehicle compliance


• Ensuring hub trunks are loaded and dispatched on time


• Supporting the Pallet Distribution Manager with daily operational requirements


• Providing general support to colleagues and other departments as required

Monday to Friday on a rotating two\-week shift pattern:

• Week 1: 6:00am to 4:00pm


• Week 2: 9:00am to approximately 6:00pm (finish times may vary depending on operational requirements)

Salary: £40,000\.00 per annum
