As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Transport Planner to join our Operations Team and play a key role in the successful delivery of transport solutions across the UK and Europe.

Working closely with drivers, customers and operational teams, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating transport movements, ensuring efficient vehicle utilisation and maintaining high service standards throughout every stage of the transport process.
No two days are the same. You may be planning complex transport schedules, coordinating international movements, arranging permits and ferry crossings, supporting drivers on the road or responding to operational challenges to ensure customer requirements are delivered successfully.
The Role
As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating transport operations and ensuring the efficient delivery of services across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and coordinating transport movements to meet customer requirements.
- Monitoring and adjusting transport plans to accommodate changing priorities and operational demands.
- Allocating jobs and trailers efficiently across the fleet.
- Coordinating carnet requirements, permits, ferry crossings and double\-driver arrangements where required.
- Liaising with drivers throughout live operations to provide support and resolve issues.
- Obtaining collection and delivery information from customers and ensuring all requirements are communicated effectively.
- Maintaining regular communication with customers and drivers to ensure smooth operational delivery.
- Providing clear instructions to drivers regarding routes, schedules and delivery requirements.
- Responding promptly and effectively to operational issues, delays and customer requests.
- Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, regulations and industry best practice.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers and identifying opportunities to support future business growth.
- Supporting the wider Operations Team to deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
- Participating in out\-of\-hours support when required, including evenings, weekends and operational call\-outs.

You may already be working within transport planning, logistics or fleet operations, but most importantly you will be someone who enjoys problem solving, works well under pressure and takes ownership of delivering results.

- Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination or fleet operations.
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast\-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with customers, drivers and colleagues.
- Experience of international transport operations.
- Knowledge of carnets, permits and ferry booking procedures.
- Understanding of vehicle maintenance and fleet management.
- Experience working within specialist logistics, events or time\-critical transport environments.
