Transport Planner

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail\-oriented Transport Planner in Genral Haulage to optimise day to day operations and ensure the efficient movement of goods. Responsibilities

• Running Day to Day transport schedules to meet delivery deadlines while optimising costs


• Coordinate with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to ensure seamless logistics operations


• Manage routing and scheduling using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word


• Monitor vehicle utilisation, maintenance schedules, and driver availability to maximise efficiency


• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards across all transportation activities


• Analyse logistical data to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements


• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client enquiries promptly and professionally


• Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and related documentation using IT systems

Requirements

• Proven experience in Genral Haulage


• Strong driving skills with a valid driving licence recognised in the UK


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and specialised logistics software


• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively


• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal


• Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team


• Good IT literacy with the ability to adapt to new systems quickly


• Exceptional customer service skills with a professional approach to problem\-solving


• Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
