Transport Planner

Responsibilities
· To ensure the accurate processing of jobs within the traffic management software
· To promptly answer telephone calls in an efficient manner
· To assist the managers in the management of allocation of work to achieve the most cost effective load, route and vehicle allocations within the parameters of customers’ requirements and staff available.
· To assist the managers in the management of the drivers and yard staff to ensure a smooth running and efficient service is provided internally and an excellent customer service delivered externally.
· To assist in maintaining current regular customers and to develop new customers for the customer base to increase.
· To assist with efficient stock control of customer goods held within our warehouses
· To ensure that all customers orders, POD’s,CMR’s etc. and associated paperwork are obtained and processed in a timely fashion in order that the correct invoices can be produced.
· To deal with any queries or problems immediately to provide customer satisfaction.
· To conduct the role within as directed by the Company and within the guidelines outlined within the Group Rules and Policies.
· Out of hours assistance for drivers
· To perform any duty within the Company that is a reasonable request within the performance, skill and ability level of the job.

Skills and qualifications
· Strong administration experience, ideally within a transport, logistics or operations environment.
· Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for spreadsheets and reporting.
· Experience using Mandata (or a comparable transport management system) is desirable.
· Good standard of written and spoken English.
· GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at grade C / 4 or above.
· Willingness to undertake further training relevant to the role.
