Role Summary

The Transport Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily UK transport operations, ensuring efficient movement of goods, excellent customer service, and effective communication between customers, drivers, ports, warehouses, and subcontractors. The role also supports international freight operations between China and the UK, including sea freight, air freight, road freight, customs processes, and shipping documentation.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan and coordinate daily transport operations across the UK, ensuring efficient and timely deliveries.

· Schedule drivers' daily workloads, routes, and delivery plans to maximise fleet utilisation.

· Coordinate container collections and deliveries to and from UK ports.

· Manage port bookings, transport schedules, and shipment movements.

· Monitor fleet operations and provide day\-to\-day operational support to drivers.

· Liaise with customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, and operational updates.

· Work closely with drivers, warehouses, ports, and subcontractors to ensure smooth transport operations.

· Respond promptly to operational issues, delays, traffic disruptions, and customer requests.

· Support transport compliance and maintain accurate operational records.

· Coordinate logistics resources to ensure service levels and customer expectations are consistently met.

Additional Responsibilities

· Assist with import and export logistics between China and the UK.

· Coordinate sea freight, air freight, and road freight shipments when required.

· Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and hauliers.

· Assist with customs clearance and shipping documentation.

· Maintain communication with international logistics partners and customers.

Skills \& Competencies

· Excellent organisational and time management skills.

· Strong communication and customer service abilities.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

· Good problem\-solving and decision\-making skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

· Experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS) is advantageous.

· Knowledge of UK road transport and container logistics is desirable.

· Understanding of import/export procedures and customs documentation is beneficial.

Preferred Experience \& Qualifications

· Previous experience in transport coordination, logistics, or freight forwarding.

· Knowledge of UK transport operations and port procedures.

· Experience coordinating container transport is preferred.

· A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: From £28,850\.00 per year
