Transport Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Transport Manager to lead and optimize our transportation operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end\-to\-end logistics processes, ensuring efficient movement of goods while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance supply chain performance, and foster a culture of excellence within the transportation team. Responsibilities

• Manage daily transportation activities, including scheduling, routing, and dispatching to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.


• Supervise transportation staff, including drivers and logistics coordinators, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.


• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP systems to plan routes, track deliveries, and analyze operational data.


• Monitor profit \& loss statements related to transportation activities, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.


• Implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, safety standards, and operational efficiency.


• Maintain detailed records of items, inventory movements, incident reports.


• Occasionally, cover for absent staff members

Requirements

• Proven supervising experience in transportation or logistics management roles with a focus on team leadership.


• Hands\-on experience with transportation management systems.


• Knowledge of supply chain principles, logistics operations.


• Ability to lead process improvement projects aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing costs through continuous improvement strategies.


• Past experience managing a small team.


• Time management skills


• Customer Service skills


• Fluent in English


• Pass a DBS Check


• MUST HOLD A FULL U.K. MANUAL LICENSE.

Pay: Up to £13\.71 per hour
