Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager specialising in jobs booking to oversee and optimise our transportation operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing logistics, coordinating shipments, and ensuring efficient utilisation of resources within a dynamic supply chain environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong supervisory skills and a comprehensive understanding of modern transportation management systems. The ideal applicant will possess a background in logistics, warehouse management, and process improvement to drive continuous operational enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transportation activities, including scheduling and booking of shipments to ensure timely delivery.


• Manage relationships with third\-party logistics providers (3PL) and coordinate their activities within the supply chain framework.


• Utilise transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to plan, execute, and monitor logistics operations.


• Supervise team members involved in shipping \& receiving, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.


• Monitor profit \& loss metrics related to transportation activities, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.


• Implement process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows across logistics functions.


• Oversee shipping documentation, compliance, and coordination with warehouse teams using systems such as AS400 and other enterprise resource planning tools.


• Ensure proper handling of goods, including forklift operations and warehouse experience, maintaining safety standards at all times.


• Analyse data to optimise routes, reduce transit times, and enhance overall supply chain performance.

• Proven supervising experience within a logistics or transportation environment.


• Extensive knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, WMS, and AS400 platforms.


• Strong understanding of supply chain processes including shipping \& receiving, warehouse management, and freight optimisation.


• Experience working with 3PL providers and managing third\-party logistics operations.


• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement projects within logistics or warehouse settings.


• Familiarity with forklift operation and warehouse safety standards is desirable.
