Overview

Responsible for the efficient planning and coordination of transport operations, ensuring that waste collection and transportation services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with customer requirements. The role involves route planning, customer service, transport administration, fleet compliance support, and liaison with internal departments to ensure the smooth day\-to\-day running of transport activities.

Duties

  • Coordination of the daily routing and scheduling of vehicles to maximise efficiency and meet customer requirements.

  • Plan cost\-effective transport routes while ensuring compliance with operational and legal requirements.

  • Respond promptly to driver, customer and operational queries, resolving transport issues and delays where possible.

  • Provide guidance and quotations for waste management services.

  • Process customer bookings accurately using the company transport management system.

  • Complete data entry and maintain accurate transport and waste records.

  • Support fleet compliance by maintaining vehicle and driver records as required.

  • Supporting operational teams by ensuring information is communicated accurately and promptly.

  • Carry out driver debriefs and report any issues requiring further action.

  • Maintaining customer records within company systems.

  • Supporting compliance with environmental, transport and company procedures.

  • Assisting with administrative tasks across the wider business when required.

  • Building positive relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.

  • Taking ownership of customer issues through to resolution.

  • Promoting the Cox Group's services and identifying opportunities to improve customer retention and satisfaction.

  • Ensuring commercial and contractual obligations are met.
Any other tasks as delegated by Operations Manager.

Experience

  • Strong analysis skills to interpret data related to shipping performance and logistics efficiency.

  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with carriers, vendors, and internal teams effectively.

  • Proficiency in data entry tasks using platforms like AS400 or SyteLine; attention to detail is essential.

  • Knowledge of shipping \& receiving procedures along with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated typing skills combined with professional phone etiquette to manage inquiries confidently.
Pay: £35,000\.00 per year
