Transport Coordinator
Location: Glasgow Branch
Position: Full\-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

About Us

Cleveland Cable Company is the UK's largest cable distributor. With a global reach and a massive fleet of delivery vehicles, we pride ourselves on speed, reliability, and exceptional customer service. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly organised and proactive Transport Coordinator to join our busy logistics team at our Glasgow branch.

The Role

As a Transport Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our regional distribution operations. You will be responsible for planning, organising, and coordinating the daily movement of goods across Scotland and the wider UK network to ensure our customers receive their orders safely and on time. This is a fast\-paced, 100% office\-based role that requires sharp problem\-solving skills and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Route Planning: Schedule and optimise daily delivery routes for our Glasgow\-based fleet to maximise efficiency and minimise delays.

  • Driver Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing clear instructions, debriefing them after routes, and handling on\-the\-road issues.

  • Compliance \& Safety: Ensure all transport activities comply with legal requirements, including driver hours, tachograph regulations, and vehicle maintenance schedules.

  • Customer Service: Liaise with the local sales team and customers to provide accurate delivery updates and resolve any logistical challenges swiftly.

  • Administration: Maintain accurate transport records, update the internal logistics system, and manage delivery paperwork (PODs).
What We Are Looking For
  • Experience: Proven experience working within a transport, logistics, or couriering environment is highly desirable.

  • Geographical Knowledge: A strong understanding of Scottish road networks and UK geography.

  • Tech\-Savvy: Proficiency in transport management systems (TMS), vehicle tracking software, and MS Office (especially Excel).

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to confidently manage driver relations and customer expectations.

  • Organisation: The ability to multitask, prioritise a heavy workload, and adapt to changing schedules on the fly.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and stable, full\-time employment with an industry leader.

  • Standard office hours (Monday to Friday), offering an excellent work\-life balance compared to typical shift\-based logistics roles.

  • Company pension scheme.

  • Opportunities for career progression within a major national company.
Work Location: In person
