Job Description
Drophex Logistics Ltd is seeking a Transport and Distribution Manager to plan, organise and coordinate our transport and delivery operations. The successful candidate will help ensure the safe, efficient and economical movement and distribution of freight and support the continued growth of our logistics business.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and coordinate transport and delivery operations.
- Coordinate drivers and vehicles and allocate operational resources.
- Monitor delivery performance and service levels.
- Manage operational issues, delays and changes to delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate transport and operational records.
- Coordinate daily logistics activities to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Support the safe and efficient movement and distribution of freight.
- Monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Support compliance with relevant transport, safety and company procedures.
- Liaise with drivers, customers and operational teams to resolve operational issues.
- Previous experience in transport, logistics, distribution, operations or a transferable management/coordination environment is desirable but not essential.
- Experience coordinating people, resources, vehicles, schedules or operational activities is desirable.
- Strong organisational and problem\-solving skills.
- Good communication and record\-keeping skills.
- Ability to manage operational priorities and deal with unexpected issues.
- Understanding of transport, safety and operational procedures, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for day\-to\-day transport and distribution operations.
- Willingness and ability to learn company\-specific systems, procedures and operational processes.
