JOB TITLE: Transport Administrator \- Part time
LOCATION: Bradford
HOURS: 25 hours. Monday to Thursday 06:30 – 11:30 am\- 20 hrs, Friday 07:00 – 12:00pm \- 5 hrs
A bit about your role..
Responsible for supporting daily transport operations, including booking deliveries, updating systems, and processing transport documents. Acts as a key contact for customers and drivers, helping resolve queries and ensure smooth, on\-time deliveries. Works closely with internal teams to maintain accurate records and efficient service.
Some of your key responsibilities..
- Manage live orders on internal systems, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
- Book and coordinate deliveries with customers via phone and email, liaising with the correct contacts.
- Oversee each order from placement through to final delivery/completion, ensuring a smooth process and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Act as the main point of contact for all customer service calls relating to live or completed orders (not sales/prospecting).
- Provide a high\-quality customer service experience on every call, resolving queries and complaints professionally and effectively, turning issues into positive outcomes where possible.
- Book deliveries and ensure all necessary arrangements (drivers, labour, and scheduling) are in place before weekly deadlines (e.g., Friday completion).
- File driver timesheets and ensure all transport documentation is accurately recorded on computer systems.
- Maintain and manage customer/sample databases where required.
- Handle customs clearance documentation and ensure correct filing and compliance.
- Highlight, record, and file any defects reported through driver vehicle check sheets.
- Support resolution of customer issues and general service queries.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure all booking and operational tasks are completed on time.
- Carry out general administrative duties as required to support the wider business.
- Strong organisational and time\-management skills
- Good communication skills (phone and email)
- Ability to work accurately with data and systems
- Basic administration experience
- Confident handling customer and driver queries
- Able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office / spreadsheets)
- Previous transport or logistics experience (desirable, not essential)
