Transport Administrator
Role Overview
To provide efficient administrative support to the Transport \& Logistics Team Leader and the wider Transport \& Logistics function, ensuring the timely and accurate coordination of transport activities. The role is responsible for processing transport documentation and picking lists, communicating with carriers and the internal sales team, maintaining accurate system records, monitoring deliveries, and supporting the achievement of service, cost, and operational performance targets.
The Transport Administrator will play a key role in ensuring customer orders are dispatched efficiently, delivery schedules are met, and transport\-related information is accurately maintained across.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and organise the daily picking lists from the internal sales team,
- Allocate daily the picking lists to yard picking team – Build effective working relationship with the yard team
- Prepare the dispatch labels and complete dispatches via the carriers porta \& internal
- ERP system – Prepare delivery notes.
- Maintain accurate transport and delivery records within company systems
- Update ERP, transport management, and spreadsheet records accurately and promptly.
- Ensure a high level of data accuracy across all transport and logistics systems.
- Communicate with the internal sales team regarding customer delivery dates and availability of stock \- build effective working relationship with the sales team
- Support the overall coordination of daily transport activities.
- Ensure all transport documentation complies with company procedures and legal requirements \& comply with the company’s Health \& Safety policies and procedures at all times.
Essential:
- Previous administration experience, preferably within a transport, logistics, warehouse, or supply chain environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast\-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Experience using ERP systems, Transport Management Systems (TMS) and online delivery portal systems.
- Knowledge of transport and distribution processes (pallet network).
- Reliable and punctual.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive, self\-motivated positive and professional attitude.
- Team player who can communicate effectively across departments.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
