Job Title: Transport Administrator

Location: Burton on Trent

Job Type: Full\-Time \| Temporary Maternity Cover (Potential Permanent)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Administrator to support the day\-to\-day operations of our busy transport and logistics department. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate documentation, and effective communication between drivers, customers, and internal teams. This role initially is for maternity cover but has the potential of a permanent position for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily transport and delivery schedules

  • Maintain accurate transport and driver records

  • Process delivery notes, invoices, and transport documentation

  • Monitor vehicle compliance, servicing, and maintenance schedules

  • Liaise with drivers, customers, and warehouse teams regarding deliveries and collections

  • Handle telephone and email enquiries professionally

  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations and company procedures

  • Update internal systems and prepare operational reports

  • Liaise with 3rd party Haulier and Carriers for UK and Worldwide deliveries

Requirements

Previous experience in a transport, logistics, or administration role (Preferred)

Strong organisational and multitasking skills

Excellent communication and customer service abilities

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook

Ability to work under pressure in a fast\-paced environment

Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping

Knowledge of transport management systems is advantageous
