Transport Administrator
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an organized and detail\-oriented Traffic Administrator to manage daily operational logistics and maintain seamless service for a key customer contract. In this role, you will serve as a central communication link between hauliers, drivers, and internal teams, ensuring accurate system records, timely traffic management, and full compliance across all movements.
Key Responsibilities
· Daily Operations \& Issue Resolution: Coordinate day\-to\-day traffic activities for a dedicated customer contract, verifying successful delivery completions and proactively investigating and resolving operational exceptions.
· Haulier \& ETA Management: Track incoming collections and liaise directly with hauliers to confirm ETAs, fixed collection slots, and specific site operational constraints.
· Relationship Management: Establish and foster clear, collaborative working relationships with external customers, third\-party hauliers, owner\-drivers, and internal departments.
· System \& Data Entry: Input and maintain precise job details, orders, and reference numbers within the Mandata transport management system.
· Reporting \& Tracking: Continuously update shared trackers, loading schedules, and client reports with real\-time collection and delivery statuses.
· Cost Allocation \& Financial Admin: Calculate and apply ancillary charges—including demurrage and wasted\-journey fees—and work with the accounts team to resolve queries prior to invoice generation.
· Compliance \& Onboarding: Audit and verify subcontractor insurance documentation and required certificates before dispatching jobs.
· Process Execution: Adhere strictly to end\-to\-end operational procedures, from initial booking creation through to proof of final delivery.
· Freight Forwarding Support: Contribute actively to the freight forwarding effort, supporting the wider team and cross\-departmental operations.
Key Qualifications \& Skills
· Previous experience in a traffic office, transport, or logistics administration role.
· Proficiency with transport management software (Mandata experience preferred/training available).
· Experience working within the pallet network system
· Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
· High attention to detail with proven accuracy in data entry and financial record\-keeping.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems calmly in a fast\-paced environment.

Job Type: Full\-time
Pay: £30,000\.00\-£35,000\.00 per year
