Transformation Manager
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Full\-time, permanent
Working pattern: Typically Monday to Friday; however, flexibility will be required to meet operational requirements.
Driving Requirement: A full UK driving licence is preferred due to the multi\-site nature of the role. A company vehicle can be provided to support business travel and site\-based responsibilities.
About the Role
Smarter Services is looking for an experienced Transformation Manager to lead operational improvement and innovation across our cleaning services.
This is a key role for someone who understands frontline service delivery and can turn operational challenges into measurable improvements. You will lead transformation and continuous improvement projects across multi\-site environments, helping us improve service quality, productivity, compliance, sustainability, cost control and customer experience.
Working closely with operational teams, clients and technology partners, you will help standardise ways of working and introduce practical innovations, including robotics, sensors, NFC tagging and digital quality monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead transformation and continuous improvement projects across cleaning and housekeeping operations, from initial review through to implementation and post\-project evaluation.
- Review operating models, workflows, staffing structures, service standards and site requirements to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, service specifications, governance frameworks and assurance processes.
- Improve productivity, quality, compliance, sustainability and customer satisfaction across operational services.
- Manage change programmes, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training and adoption support.
- Use operational data, quality audits, occupancy insights and performance reports to identify trends and measure improvement.
- Support mobilisation, service redesign, restructuring and transition projects across new and existing contracts.
- Work collaboratively with operations, facilities, housekeeping, procurement, compliance, HR and health and safety teams.
- Evaluate cleaning methods, equipment, materials and technology to improve efficiency and service outcomes.
- Lead pilots and rollouts of technology\-enabled solutions, including autonomous cleaning equipment, sensor\-based monitoring, NFC\-enabled task verification and digital quality assurance systems.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Coach and support operational teams to embed new processes and develop a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure all improvement activity aligns with health and safety, environmental, quality and compliance requirements.
You will be a practical, commercially aware transformation professional with strong knowledge of cleaning, housekeeping, facilities management or soft services. You will be comfortable working in operational environments, influencing stakeholders and delivering change that improves both customer experience and business performance.
Essential Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in transformation, change management, continuous improvement or operational excellence.
- Strong background in cleaning, housekeeping, facilities management, soft services or a related operational environment.
- Experience delivering cross\-functional projects across multi\-site or complex service environments.
- Good understanding of cleaning operations, workforce deployment, quality audits and service performance measures.
- Experience using operational data and reporting to support decision\-making and continuous improvement.
- Strong process review, root cause analysis and problem\-solving skills.
- Excellent project management, planning and organisational capability.
- Confident communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Experience delivering frontline training, process rollouts or operational change.
- Commercial awareness, with the ability to balance service quality, risk, sustainability and cost efficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting or data analysis tools.
- A hands\-on, resilient approach and the ability to work in fast\-paced environments.
- Experience working within housing, build\-to\-rent, student accommodation, healthcare, residential developments or mixed\-use environments.
- Experience implementing or evaluating operational technologies such as robotics, sensors, NFC tags or digital monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of quality, environmental and health and safety management systems.
- Experience in an accredited or highly governed service delivery environment.
- Degree, diploma or equivalent experience in business, operations, facilities management, hospitality or a related field.
- A recognised project, change or continuous improvement qualification, such as PRINCE2, PMP, Lean or Six Sigma, is desirable.
- Relevant cleaning, housekeeping, facilities management or health and safety qualifications would be advantageous.

You will also engage directly with clients, suppliers and technology partners to support service innovation and long\-term operational success.
Additional Information
This role will require travel across multiple sites and flexibility to support operational project delivery, training and implementation activities.
