This is more than just a job, it’s a chance to play a key role in the future of transport on the legendary Blackpool seafront, now connecting to Blackpool North Railway Station via an extension from the main line.
✅ A full UK car driving licence (no more than 6 points)

✅ At least 12 months of regular driving experience

✅ The ability to pass a PCV medical and assessment tests

As a Tram Driver\-Conductor, you’ll be at the heart of Blackpool’s transport network, delivering a safe, comfortable, and reliable service for thousands of passengers. You'll provide top\-tier customer service, keeping passengers informed and ensuring they have a smooth journey along the stunning coastline.

Tram Drivers work on a Rota of 5 days over 7 and we offer full time guaranteed hours.

You may start as a Conductor before progressing to Tram Driver training.
£27455pa basic salary (based on 37 hours per week)

28 days holiday (rising to 33 days inclusive of bank holidays)

Key Responsibilities


  • Comply with all training, company policies and procedures. Be alert at all times having full regard for own safety and the safety of others.

  • Ensure all vehicle checks are completed in line with the Company procedures and any faults found are reported

  • Control the boarding, alighting and conduct of customers and drive in a defensive and sympathetic manner.

  • Drive the Company’s vehicles in a safe, legal and professional way

  • Maintain operating schedules without compromising safety.

  • Arrange for and manage the safe transfer of passengers following an incident or service disruption.

  • Issue tickets and operate the paying in system correctly and account for money received to safeguard the Company's revenue.

  • Understand how to deal with customers with disabilities and treat appropriately

  • Keep up to date with any changes to condition of travel, ticket types, fares or promotions by reading notices and briefings from managers.

  • Assist with the implementation of measures to mitigate the impact of hazards.

  • Ensure an excellent customer experience being polite, helpful and treating all customers with respect regardless of circumstances.

  • Liaise effectively with customers, supervisors and administrative staff to resolve any problems that arise.

  • Deal with any customer complaints and problems proactively and in a professional manner in accordance with agreed procedures.

  • Give appropriate assistance to customers with specific needs ensuring that they are dealt with sensitively and with dignity at all times.

  • Carry out any other duties which may reasonably be requested by supervisors or other members of the management team.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Education/Qualifications/Knowledge* High school educated (Essential)

  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)

  • Understanding of what good customer service is (Essential)
Experience* Driving regularly for at least 12 months (Essential)
  • Experience of working in a customer focused role (Desirable)

  • Experience of handling cash (Desirable)

  • Professional driving experience (Desirable
Aptitudes and Skills* Good numeracy and literacy skills (Essential)
  • Aware of the importance of Health \& Safety procedures (Essential)

  • Ability to drive a vehicle to a competent and safe standard (Essential)
