What You'll LearnYour Training Journey

You'll be immersed in every aspect of our business through structured job rotations, gaining hands\-on experience in:

Phase 1: Warehouse \& Logistics (Storeman Training)

· Understanding product types, materials, and specifications

· Learning how to handle and store fenestration products safely

· Managing deliveries, inventory, and stock control

· Coordinating with suppliers and installation teams

· Operating warehouse equipment (forklift training provided if needed)

· Understanding the logistics behind successful installations

Phase 2: Sales Support \& Customer Service (Estimator \& Order Processor Training)

· Creating accurate quotations for windows, doors, and conservatories

· Learning product specifications, pricing, and margin calculations

· Using CRM systems (Business Pilot) and supplier portals

· Communicating with customers and managing enquiries

· Processing orders and coordinating with surveyors

· Understanding the customer journey from enquiry to installation

Phase 3: On\-Site Installation Experience (Installation Engineer Training)

· Working alongside experienced installation teams on customer sites

· Learning how to install windows, doors, and conservatories to industry standards

· Understanding building regulations, safety standards, and best practices

· Developing practical skills with uPVC, aluminium, timber, and composite products

· Learning how to assess site conditions and solve installation challenges

· Gaining hands\-on experience with premium brands (Origin, Velfac, Rationel, Ultraframe)

Phase 4: Surveying \& Project Management (Surveyor Training)

· Conducting site surveys and taking accurate measurements

· Agreeing specifications with customers and managing expectations

· Creating purchase orders and detailed fitting sheets

· Coordinating projects from survey to installation completion

· Managing client relationships and handling queries professionally

· Working with architects, builders, and construction teams

Formal Training \& Development

Throughout your training programme, you'll receive:

· Supplier Product Training: Formal training from leading manufacturers (Origin, George Barnsdale, Velfac, Rationel, Ultraframe)

· Construction \& Building Regulations Training: Further formal training in construction practices (for candidates who develop efficiently)

· Health \& Safety Certifications: RAMS training, working at height, manual handling

· Software \& Systems Training: CRM systems, CAD software (if applicable), supplier portals

· Customer Service \& Communication Skills: Professional development to represent QBD Ltd excellently

· Ongoing Mentorship: Support from experienced team members throughout your journey

Target Role: Fully Qualified Window \& Door Surveyor
Target Salary: £40,000 \- £50,000 per year \+ company van \+ benefits

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

· Education: Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including Maths and English)

· Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence (essential)

· Practical Mindset: Basic construction experience or hands\-on practical skills

· Physical Fitness: Ability to work in a warehouse and on installation sites (lifting, working at height)

· Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication

· Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems

· Attitude: Enthusiastic, eager to learn, and committed to developing a career

Desirable Qualities

· Interest in construction, building, or home improvement

· Experience in retail, customer service, or practical/manual work

· Good numeracy skills for measurements and calculations

Working Hours \& Schedule

· Schedule: Monday to Friday (hours will vary depending on training phase)

· Warehouse Phase: Wednesday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM

· Office Phase: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

· Installation Phase: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (on customer sites)

· Surveyor Phase: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM (flexible for site visits)
