Overview
Impact Kitchens \& Bedrooms are a successful and long established company, who have been designing and installing Kitchens \& Bedrooms throughout the North West for almost 30 years from our showroom in Hindley Green.
We are seeking a creative and detail\-oriented Trainee Kitchen \& Bedroom Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing functional and aesthetically pleasing kitchen spaces, ensuring that each design meets the unique needs of our clients. You will work closely with one of our experienced designers and customers to understand their requirements, learn how to provide expert advice, and create designs that reflect their vision while adhering to practical considerations. All whilst receiving in\-house training and support whilst you learn.
This is a permanent full time role. (5 days a week including Saturdays)
This isn't a high pressure sales environment. Our reputation, quality kitchens and bedrooms, expert installation teams and a consistent flow of enquiries mean you'll have the time to learn properly, develop your skills and focus on creating great customer experiences.
About You
- A genuine interest in design. interiors or home improvement.
- Experience and knowledge of CAD / Virtual Design packages preferred but not essential.
- A friendly, confident personality and excellent communication skills.
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Self\-motivated, flexible, ambitious, proactive and positive.
- Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Previous customer service, retail, hospitality or sales experience would be an advantage but not essential.
- Welcome clients into our showroom, and learn how to determine their kitchen design preferences, needs, and budget.
- Learn how to create detailed kitchen layouts using CAD software to visualise designs.
- Learn how to present design concepts to clients, incorporating feedback and making necessary adjustments.
- Understand how to assist clients in selecting materials, finishes, and appliances that align with their design vision.
- Accompany Senior Designers and learn how to Conduct surveys at client’s homes.
- Help to maintain an organised project file system for each client, documenting all communications and design iterations.
- Learn to manage customer projects from initiation to completion, dealing with ongoing queries and ensuring resolution.
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Strong organisational abilities to manage customers effectively.
- Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations in kitchen layouts.
- Experience with computer software packages preferred.
- A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetics in interior design.
- A fantastic team environment.
- Full training in kitchen and bedroom design using our software.
- Salary reviews as you progress and grow into a full sales designer role.
- Hours of work 37 hours per week (inclusive of 30\-minute unpaid lunch break).
- Working 5 days per week with Sunday and 1 other weekday\* off (\*to be agreed).
- 29 days annual leave including Bank/Public holidays.
