Trainee Engineer
Window / Service Engineer Trainee
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Window / Service Engineer Trainee to join our team on a full\-time, permanent basis, covering London, Kent, Essex and the South East.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within the window and door repair industry. You will work alongside experienced Service Engineers while receiving ongoing, on\-the\-job training across a wide range of window, door and glazing systems.
Previous experience within the window, door, glazing or construction industry would be an advantage, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
The Role
You will initially work alongside experienced engineers, assisting with a wide range of service and repair work, including:
- Window and door servicing and repairs
- Fault finding and general adjustments
- uPVC, aluminium and timber window and door systems
- Tilt \& turn window and door systems
- Tilt \& slide and lift \& slide door systems
- Locks, hinges, handles, mechanisms and hardware replacements
- Window and door realignment
- Single, double and triple glazing replacements
- Traditional putty glazing and hack\-outs
- Making safe broken or damaged windows and doors
- Measuring for replacement glass and components
- Assisting with occasional window and door installations
- Completing job reports and taking site photographs
- Learning how to correctly diagnose faults and identify the appropriate repair
What We're Looking For
You will need to be:
- Practical and comfortable using hand and power tools
- Keen to learn and develop new skills
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Professional and respectful when working in customers' homes and commercial properties
- Comfortable with a hands\-on, physical role
- Willing to travel throughout London, Kent, Essex and the South East
- In possession of a full UK driving licence
- Able to travel to the assigned engineer's location at the start of the working day
Due to our company vehicle insurance requirements, applicants must be aged 25 or over to drive the company vehicle.
