Job overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our Breast Service as a Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner (tANP).
The successful candidate will be a dedicated, compassionate, and knowledgeable practitioner who is committed to delivering high\-quality, patient\-centred care. Working within their professional scope of practice and agreed clinical boundaries, the post holder will develop advanced clinical skills and knowledge , supported by experienced members of the multidisciplinary team, while contributing to the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence\-based care to patients accessing the Breast Service.
This is a pathway role, with the opportunity to progress to a Band 8a role upon successful completion of the required competencies and requirements for the role. The requirements and competencies can be discussed with your line manager.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an experienced practitioner, acting within their professional boundaries. The post holder will have the skills associated with history taking, physical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care. The post holder will use their knowledge and skills to provide expert, efficient and safe patient care whilst under supervision of a nurse consultant, ANP team and Breast MDT. They will demonstrate clinical judgement and critical decision\- making skills based upon evidence\-based practice and will work collaboratively with consultants, Breast ANP’s and the wider multi\-disciplinary team in order to meet the urgent care needs of patients.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Appropriate professional qualification (nursing or allied health professional) that allows registration with the NMC/ HCPC
- Degree level award (level 6\) plus postgraduate specialist training, experience, short courses to Master’s equivalent level
- Meet the criteria for entry on to a Centre for Advancing Practice accredited Advanced Practice (AP) master’s (level 7\) programme, OR Registered on and currently completing a Centre for Advancing Practice accredited master’s (level 7\) AP programme
Experience
Essential criteria
- Clinical Leadership experience
- Evidence of developing specialised clinical skills across relevant speciality.
- Experience in Breast cancer nursing and benign breast disease
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience as an autonomous practitioner
