The Opportunity
We are currently seeking to recruit Trainee Accountant, to join our fantastic team, in response to continued growth in the business.
The successful candidate will receive structured on\-the\-job training and support towards a recognised professional accountancy qualification. As knowledge and experience develop, the Trainee Accountant will take on greater responsibility for accounting and tax assignments across a varied portfolio of Irish and international clients.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Process client accounting records accurately using Xero and other relevant systems.
· Assist with the preparation of annual accounts from client records through to draft financial statements.
· Prepare VAT returns and support other tax compliance work, including corporation tax and income tax returns as experience develops.
· Maintain complete, accurate and properly organised working papers and client records.
· Communicate with clients by telephone and email to request information and resolve queries.
· Manage assigned tasks and deadlines across a portfolio of clients.
· Participate fully in training and work towards an approved professional accountancy qualification.
· Support the team with other accounting and administrative work as required.
Skills and Experience Required:
· A passion and desire to pursue a career as a qualified Accountant (or Accounting Technician)
· An accountancy degree or ATI qualification or part\-qualification of an accountancy profession is essential
· Professional experience in a similar role would be a distinct advantage, in particular bookkeeping experience and experience with Xero, ROS, excel etc.
· Strong business acumen
· Excellent numerical, analytical and IT skills
· Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues.
· Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and a proactive approach to work.
· Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience, including experience with Xero or ROS, would be an advantage but is not essential.
