From our Chester showroom, Merchant House, we work with homeowners, kitchen retailers, designers, architects and trade professionals to deliver exceptional products and service.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious and relationship\-focused individual to join our team in a unique hybrid role combining trade development, merchandising, showroom support and business generation.
The Role
The Trade Development \& Merchandising Executive will be responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with our network of trade partners, ensuring our products and displays are professionally represented, and generating new referral opportunities for the business.
This role combines three days per week visiting trade partners in the field with two days supporting our Merchant House showroom team.
You will become a key ambassador for the Ruby Granite brand, helping to strengthen our presence within the kitchen, interiors and construction sectors.
Key ResponsibilitiesTrade Partner Development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with kitchen retailers, designers, architects, builders and trade professionals.
- Conduct regular visits to trade partners throughout Cheshire, North West England and North Wales.
- Identify and develop new trade partnership opportunities.
- Encourage and support referral activity from trade partners.
- Act as the primary point of contact for partner enquiries.
- Maintain records of visits, discussions and agreed actions.
- Ensure all Ruby Granite samples are correctly displayed and maintained at partner locations.
- Replace damaged, missing or outdated samples.
- Maintain merchandising materials including brochures, specification sheets and point\-of\-sale displays.
- Monitor and record sample placement across the trade network.
- Provide showroom cover at Merchant House on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- Welcome customers and assist with product selection.
- Handle initial enquiries and support consultation bookings.
- Maintain showroom displays, samples and marketing materials to the highest standard.
- Deliver an excellent customer experience to all visitors.
- Generate referral opportunities through existing and new trade relationships.
- Track and report on trade partner activity and enquiries.
- Provide weekly activity reports and market feedback.
- Support wider sales and marketing initiatives.
- Previous experience in trade sales, field sales, merchandising, account management or business development.
- Excellent communication and relationship\-building skills.
- Self\-motivated with the ability to manage your own workload and diary.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional presentation and customer\-facing experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience within kitchens, interiors, construction, home improvement or related sectors.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
- Existing trade contacts within Cheshire, North West England or North Wales.
- Experience working with architects, designers or kitchen retailers.
