Trade Account Manager (Automotive)
About Us
We are a fast\-growing automotive e\-commerce business supplying performance car parts and components to customers across the UK and internationally.
Over the years, we have built a strong online presence and established several successful in\-house brands. Alongside our direct\-to\-consumer business, we have also developed a growing network of trade customers including garages, retailers, workshops and automotive businesses.
As the company continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Trade Account Manager to develop this area of the business further.
This is not a traditional field sales role. Instead, you'll become the face of our trade division, building long\-term relationships, supporting existing customers and proactively growing new accounts from our Manchester office.
The Role
This is a predominantly desk\-based position that combines account management, customer relationship building and business development.
You'll be responsible for looking after our existing trade customers while identifying and onboarding new businesses that would benefit from our products and brands.
You'll work closely with our warehouse, purchasing and e\-commerce teams to ensure our trade customers receive an exceptional level of service.
There will also be occasional UK travel to visit key customers, attend trade shows and strengthen relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow existing trade customer accounts.
- Build long\-term relationships with garages, workshops, retailers and automotive businesses.
- Proactively contact existing customers to discuss new products, promotions and opportunities.
- Identify and onboard new trade customers.
- Conduct outbound calls and email campaigns to generate new business opportunities.
- Ensure trade orders are progressing smoothly and resolve any issues quickly.
- Liaise with warehouse and internal teams to guarantee excellent service levels.
- Keep customers updated on new product launches and stock availability.
- Gather market feedback and competitor insights.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and account activity.
- Visit customers and industry events on an occasional basis.
- Someone who has previous experience working within the automotive industry.
- Has significant personal automotive knowledge and enthusiasm combined with proven experience in a similar Account Management, Trade Sales or Business Development role within another sector.
Essential Requirements
- Previous Account Management, Business Development or Trade Sales experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously.
- Confident speaking to customers over the phone, email and in person.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Comfortable working with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Passion for the automotive industry.
- Knowledge of performance car parts and enthusiast brands.
- Experience working within e\-commerce or distribution businesses.
