Role: Children's Residential Support Worker
Location: Kettering base (may be required to travel to other services in Northamptonshire area to support on occasion.)
Contract hours: Up to 46\.5 hours p/w (overtime available)
Salary: Up to £30,241\.20 per annum
Shift Pattern: The role requires evening and weekends. Up to 8 sleeps per month paid separately at £60 per sleep.

The role
As the Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing consistent, outstanding care and support to children in our care. Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team, you’ll help create a safe, stable and nurturing home environment that promotes positive routines, emotional wellbeing and life skill development.
You will build meaningful, trusting relationships with young people, supporting them through challenges, and empower them to develop confidence, independence and a sense of belonging. This is a rewarding role where you can make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
What we are looking for in a successful candidate:
- A high level of emotional awareness (in self and others).
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with children, families, colleagues and external agencies.
- Ability to maintain appropriate routines, boundaries and role model positive behaviours.
- Capacity to handle crises and challenging behaviours calmly and professionally.
- Adaptability and willingness to respond positively to change.
- To hold NVQ/QCF/CYP Level 3 or Level Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent or be willing to work towards.
- The ability to work within the current legislative framework and organisation’s policies and procedures.
- You will be required to engage in ongoing training, supervision, and personal development, including mandatory physical intervention and first aid training.
- This role involves physical tasks such as supporting children on long walks, participating in safe holding/restraint (with training and when required), and manual handling.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Walking long distances during outings and community activities
Carrying heavy provisions or equipment for trips and activities
Getting down to floor level to engage in play or therapeutic activities
