The Role
To carry out routine internal testing and recording activities accurately and consistently, supporting the business in maintaining safe, compliant and hire\-ready equipment. The role holder will develop a strong understanding of LOLER, PAT and RCD testing requirements, company procedures and the hire database, while working within clearly defined procedures and escalating issues appropriately.
Monday to Friday, 8:30am \- 5:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out authorised LOLER inspections on hire stock in accordance with the relevant inspection procedure, marking equipment and recording results accurately.
- Carry out routine PAT testing on hire stock as required, ensuring test results and equipment status are clearly identified.
- Maintain accurate LOLER and PAT records and ensure completed results are entered or transferred to the appropriate hire\-system records.
- Support the introduction and consistent use of RCD testing within department preparation processes.
- Complete testing activities within agreed daily and weekly priorities, raising any uncertainty or technical concern before equipment is returned to service.
- Identify damaged, failed, overdue or otherwise unsuitable equipment and quarantine or escalate it in line with company procedure.
- Follow established testing, recording, Health \& Safety and equipment\-handling procedures at all times.
- Provide clear, professional feedback to colleagues when testing or recording standards are not being met.
*Essential Requirements:*
- Relevant LOLER inspection qualification/competence appropriate to the inspections undertaken and practical PAT testing experience. Don’t have the full qualifications yet? We are open to hearing from candidates with a strong technical interest and a methodical approach. We will provide a structured training pathway and full support to help you achieve the necessary certifications as you grow into the role.
- Good standard of English and maths, with the ability to interpret technical information and maintain accurate records.
- Basic\-to\-good technical understanding relevant to the equipment being tested.
- Reliable, methodical and highly attentive to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident using IT systems and able to learn the company hire and testing databases.
- Organised, able to prioritise routine workload and respond positively during busy periods.
- Positive, practical and solution\-focused approach.
- Experience in the entertainment and or events industry or a technically\-related field.
- Experience of working in a warehouse setting.
