About the Role

We are recruiting for a Test Engineer to join a growing electronics manufacturing business based in West Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience testing and fault\-finding electronic products within a production or manufacturing environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring products meet quality standards by carrying out functional testing, diagnosing faults, supporting production, and working closely with engineering and quality teams to improve manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing of electronic assemblies and finished products.


• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults down to component level.


• Use test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and other electronic measuring instruments.


• Read and interpret circuit diagrams, schematics and technical documentation.


• Record test results accurately and complete all required production documentation.


• Support production with technical issues and investigate test failures.


• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency and test processes.


• Ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.


• Maintain test equipment and ensure calibration requirements are met.


• Work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Test Engineer, Electronics Test Technician or similar role.


• Experience within an electronics manufacturing or production environment.


• Strong fault\-finding skills at PCB or component level.


• Ability to use electronic test equipment confidently.


• Able to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings.


• Good problem\-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable

• Knowledge of IPC standards.


• Experience working within an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.


• Experience supporting continuous improvement activities.
