Contract: Part\-time, temporary three month contract, may be extended or become a permanent position.
Holiday: 33 days including bank holidays, pro rata

Do you enjoy spotting items of value, creating great listings and helping customers? Join RSPCA Coventry and District Branch as an eCommerce Assistant and help turn donated goods into vital funds for animal welfare.
We are a separately registered charity, closely affiliated with the national RSPCA. We run the Coundon Wedge Drive Animal Centre, where we rehabilitate and rehome over 700 animals each year. Our six charity shops and online sales help fund this work.
About the role
Working alongside our eCommerce Manager, you’ll support the day\-to\-day running and growth of our online sales. From researching donated items and taking photographs to answering customer enquiries and packing orders, you’ll help give buyers a positive experience and maximise the value of every donation.
You’ll also support our social media activity, promoting products, our shops and the charity’s work.
Your 21 weekly hours will be arranged within our core operating hours of Monday to Friday, 9\.00am–4\.30pm, with some flexibility required.
What you’ll do
- Identify donated items suitable for online sale, research their value and select the most appropriate selling platform.
- Create accurate, engaging product listings with high\-quality photographs and well\-researched prices.
- Respond professionally to customer messages, reviews, enquiries and complaints.
- Pack and dispatch sold items promptly and carefully, helping maintain positive feedback and healthy seller accounts.
- Work with Shop Managers to source stock and maintain a regular flow of new listings.
- Work towards targets for listing frequency, customer service and sales.
- Support the growth of existing online marketplaces and help identify new selling opportunities.
- Maintain social media accounts in line with branch guidelines, using Facebook and Instagram to promote items and raise awareness.
- Follow branch policies and health and safety procedures, treating colleagues, volunteers and customers with dignity and respect.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, self\-motivated and enthusiastic about online selling, with:
- Experience using eCommerce platforms such as eBay, Vinted and Depop.
- Customer service experience and a professional, helpful approach.
- A good understanding of online selling and social media, including Facebook.
- A good general level of education and confidence using computers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Close attention to detail and the ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload.
- The initiative to solve problems and work independently without direct supervision.
- A positive, practical attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
- Support for the RSPCA’s aims and commitment to animal welfare.
