Responsibilities
As a Customer Connections Engineer, you’ll be out in the field bringing full\-fibre connectivity directly into customers’ homes. Your work will cover both underground and overhead installations via PIA and client networks, with a strong emphasis on quality and customer care.
Reporting to the Head of Field Delivery, you’ll be the face of CASS—ensuring every installation is completed safely, professionally, and to the highest standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing fibre to residential premises across UG and OH networks
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues during installations
- Working with internal support teams and client contacts to ensure smooth activations
- Maintaining professionalism and delivering a positive customer experience at all times
We’re seeking motivated engineers with hands\-on telecoms experience and a strong customer focus. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Solid understanding of fibre installation methods and terminology
- Strong communication skills for both customers and technical teams
- A professional, well\-presented approach in all customer interactions
- Friendly, empathetic, and confident in representing CASS on\-site
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Flexibility and resilience in a field\-based role
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- SA001, SA002, S7, S8 (or equivalent)
- NRSWA Unit 2
- K8 (Hand rodding in UG network)
- NOPS Smart Awards Card (essential)
- Experience working at height, including ladders and telegraph poles up to 11m
- Understanding of safe lone\-working and team\-working practices
- Previous customer\-facing experience
- Full UK manual driving licence (12 months minimum)
- Clear DBS
- PIA experience (beneficial but not essential)
