Description:
The BETA Technology Centre is made up of a young, multidisciplinary team of over 140 people, and is looking to recruit a dynamic individual keen to be part of this project.
We are seeking a Technician to work in the Centre’s Instrumental Analysis Laboratory.
The BETA Technology Centre has experienced exponential growth since its creation in late 2014, and since March 2021 the centre has moved into new premises with over 800 m² of laboratories and pilot plant facilities. Within these new facilities, the Instrumental Analysis Laboratory is a key component and currently houses the following equipment: gas chromatographs (with ECD, FID, MS and TCD detectors), UV spectrophotometers, liquid chromatographs (HPLC and IC), CHN elemental analysers and flame analysers.
Functions and duties:
- Carrying out sample analyses using the instrumental analysis equipment at the CT BETA.
- Ensuring the equipment is used and maintained correctly.
- Carrying out regular maintenance of the equipment.
- Assisting the centre’s researchers with sample analysis.
- Ensuring the quality of the results obtained in the instrumental laboratory.

Intermediate vocational training in fields related to the subject of the call for applications. Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it. Accreditation of Level B2 English or commitment to obtain it.* Knowledge of and previous experience with instrumental analytical techniques, such as: ion chromatography, liquid and gas chromatography, atomic absorption, amongst others.

Merits
- University degree in: a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences or a related field.
- PhD in Chemistry or a related field.
- Previous experience working in other chemical analysis laboratories, preferably in the environmental sector.
- Experience working in research, either at universities or research centres.
