Technical Sales Manager

Location: Remote
Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 basic salary + company car
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Yolk Recruitment is currently working with a growing business within the water treatment industry to recruit an experienced Technical Sales Manager to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused sales professional with technical experience within the water treatment sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across the UK, while also nurturing and expanding relationships with existing clients.

Working closely with internal teams, including Marketing, you will play a key role in supporting continued business growth across a diverse range of industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and pursue new business opportunities across the UK.


• Analyse market trends and contribute to sales and marketing strategies.


• Generate sales leads through proactive business development activity.


• Manage and follow up leads generated through the website, existing customers and general enquiries.


• Prepare quotations and associated costings using Microsoft Office.


• Present quotations to clients and manage the follow-up process through to completion.


• Understand and respond to customer requirements in line with commercial and technical specifications.


• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM system, including quotation activity, follow-ups and sales reporting.


• Monitor key sales metrics and provide regular progress updates to senior management, including quotations issued, anticipated orders and performance against targets.


• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing customers.


• Work collaboratively with internal teams to identify opportunities to improve service, productivity and profitability.


• Ensure consistently high levels of customer service and care.


• Keep up to date with developments within the water treatment sector through continuous learning and professional development.

The successful candidate will have:

• At least 2 years' proven sales or business development experience within the water treatment industry.


• Experience and knowledge of one or more of the following: • Water treatment technologies such as reverse osmosis (RO), water softening, filtration or ion exchange; or


• Industrial wastewater treatment, including physico-chemical processes such as flocculation, settlement and filtration.


• A strong understanding of the complete sales process, from initial enquiry and quotation through to order completion.


• A proven track record of developing and nurturing strong client relationships.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• A commercially focused and proactive approach to identifying and converting new opportunities.


• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and customer relationships effectively.


• A willingness to develop your industry knowledge and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

• £40,000 - £55,000 basic salary
