Day-to-day of the role:
- Develop, implement, and adhere to technical policies and procedures to ensure food safety and quality.
- Achieve site accreditations by ensuring compliance and audit readiness for BRCGS and customer audits.
- Develop and implement robust traceability systems for regulatory compliance and full product traceability.
- Lead pest control strategies, protecting product integrity and maintaining a hygienic production environment.
- Oversee product testing and environmental monitoring to prevent contamination.
- Investigate customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Deliver training on food safety, hygiene, and quality standards, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Monitor and manage site trends and risks proactively.
- Manage the site QA and Hygiene teams to ensure daily standards and monitoring are completed correctly.
- Oversee the site non-conformance system, ensuring issues are effectively resolved.
- Coordinate and maintain the internal auditing process to meet BRCGS and customer requirements.
- Strong understanding of food safety, legality, compliance, and quality standards within the food manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in a technical or quality role within a food manufacturing environment.
- HACCP Level 3 or higher.
- Food Safety and Hygiene certifications level 3 or higher.
- Excellent communication skills and leadership capabilities.
- Working knowledge of SAP system is advantageous.
