Technical Engineer
Technical Engineer
Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid)
Are you a hands\-on Technical Engineer ready to take charge of how you work and set the standard for quality?
If you’ve spent years getting it right behind the scenes, this is your chance to set the benchmark. You’ll shape how installations are delivered, influence quality standards, and help both customers and engineers succeed.
About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to step into a role that blends hands\-on field engineering with training \- designed for someone who thrives on doing both. You’ll play a key role in shaping how installations are delivered, with the autonomy to make a real impact across the business.
A core part of the role is working through third\-party partners—setting expectations, auditing performance, and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
You’ll bring your technical expertise and problem\-solving mindset to guide partners and customers, while delivering engaging training that builds capability and drives consistently high standards across the network.
If you’re motivated by variety, ownership, and the chance to raise the bar on installation delivery, this role offers the platform to do just that.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Get Hands\-On with Technical Challenges:
- Diagnose and resolve complex installation and hardware issues, supporting engineers, partners, and customers onsite and remotely while stepping in to manage escalations and keep systems running smoothly.
- Provide engaging, hands\-on training to engineers, partners, and customers, while creating clear, user\-friendly installation guides and supporting internal teams with product and installation knowledge.
- Carry out installation audits and quality checks, setting the benchmark for excellence while identifying gaps and driving continuous improvement.
- Support major deployments, recommend the right hardware solutions, assist with product launches and trials, and work closely with teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Hands\-on 12\-volt vehicle installation experience (telematics, GPS, alarms, or similar)
- Strong diagnostic skills beyond plug\-in tools
- Confident delivering training to engineers, partners, or customers
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (up to 75%, including overnight)
- FITAS accredited or willing to obtain
- Based within daily commute of Milton Keynes
The role comes with a company vehicle, fuel card, overnight expenses covered, and a hybrid arrangement that respects the reality of a field\-heavy schedule.
You'll see the whole product lifecycle — from new hardware trials to live deployment — and you'll be the person internal teams turn to when it matters.
