Technical Director - Ecology & Biodiversity
SLR is a global leader in sustainability solutions, working with clients to help make sustainability happen, within a collaborative, people\-first culture.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Technical Director – Ecology to join our established Ecology team in Leeds, delivering high\-profile projects across the power, mining \& minerals, infrastructure and built environment sectors.
You'll play a leading role in delivering ecological services for large and complex multidisciplinary projects, working closely with clients and colleagues across the business. The role includes:
- Project and technical leadership for ecology inputs on major projects
- Client management, business development and proposal support
- Mentoring and coaching less experienced ecologists
- Desk\-based project work alongside occasional site visits and travel across the UK, and potentially overseas

- Extensive ecological consultancy experience, ideally across infrastructure, power, mining \& minerals and built environment sectors
- Relevant degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biological Sciences or a related discipline
- Significant project management and stakeholder engagement experience
- Proven track record of developing client relationships, winning new work and supporting business growth
- Appropriate level of membership with CIEEM or equivalent professional body
- Strong technical reporting, communication and problem\-solving skills
- Passion for delivering high\-quality ecological work and developing others
- A driving licence that permits you to legally drive in the UK is required for site visits
