HUSK is a Bristol based manufacturer producing high quality, design led kitchen doors and fronts.

We work from our central based office and workshop, using modern equipment and focusing on delivering a consistent, high end finish.

The Pre\-Production team is based in an office connected directly to the Workshop, allowing us to work closely with the production team and make sure every project is fully resolved before it reaches manufacture.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced technical designer to join our Pre\-Production team.

The Pre\-Production department acts as the bridge between the Sales team and the Workshop. Our role is to interpret the sales vision, assess the technical feasibility of each kitchen design, and prepare all the information the Workshop will need for production.

What you’ll be doing

• Receive and review project handovers from the Sales Team


• Work directly with clients to finalise all technical and aesthetic details before programming and production


• Produce presentation documents for bespoke items (e.g. spice racks, appliance housings, feature units) for client approval and workshop clarity.


• Ensure seamless transition from concept to production by checking all details have been resolved, approved, and are ready for manufacture.


• Program kitchen orders using BricsCAD and Microvellum ready for CNC manufacture.


• Prepare clear and detailed production packs to support CNC and assembly teams.


• Act as a bridge between Sales, Design, CNC, and Workshop to align expectations and avoid production issues.

We’re looking for someone who is technically minded, detail focused and confident working across both design and manufacturing. You’ll be someone who enjoys taking a design and working through the detail to make sure it can be produced accurately, efficiently and to the standard our customers expect.

• Experience in a technical design, kitchen design, cabinetry or manufacturing environment, with a good understanding of how products move from design through to manufacture.


• Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot potential issues before they reach production.


• Good technical understanding of materials, construction methods, hardware, tolerances and manufacturing processes.


• Confident communicator, comfortable speaking with clients on the phone, communicating clearly by email and working closely with Sales and the Workshop to resolve queries and keep projects moving.


• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and translate design information into clear, accurate production information.


• Experience with CAD software, ideally BricsCAD and familiarity with CNC manufacturing. Experience with Microvellum would be a strong advantage.


• Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.


• Reliable and comfortable working as part of a small collaborative team. Alongside working effectively with Sales and Workshop teams

Starting salary £30,000 per annum. Reviewed after first year based on progress.
