To start: July 2026

Salary: €1300 gross per month, plus 13 days vacation, and travel and lunch benefits

What is on offer

  • A 6\-month long paid traineeship with our EU Public Affairs team.

  • This is a unique opportunity to work directly with Twilio, a client active in the space of telecommunications, data, AI, and Identity, learning from some of the most senior and experienced people in the business.

  • You will be given a one\-on\-one mentor responsible for your development at Hanbury.

  • You will be fully involved in our company culture and have access to numerous development and training initiatives and social activities.
The role
  • You will have the opportunity to support the work of Twilio, a high\-value Hanbury client, working directly with the client on day\-to\-day tasks.

  • You will monitor, research and report on policy, regulatory and political developments across EMEA, dealing with what happens at the EU and national level across EMEA, focusing on the impact of legislation and regulation on an innovative technology company

  • You will track and analyse legal texts, reports, and other documents, and assess and inform on their relevance.

  • You will assist with the research for, and drafting and/or review of position papers and other policy\-related documents.

  • You will attend virtual and/or physical\-presence events in Brussels as needed, and report internally on the content.

  • You may be invited to participate in advocacy engagements with a variety of stakeholders as appropriate.

  • The selected candidate will work across several policy areas including technology regulation supporting the client in specific areas such as AI, data, connectivity and fraud prevention.
You will
  • Have a deep understanding of EU policymaking and/or regulatory frameworks. Tech and telecom policy background/experience a plus.

  • Have a desire to learn new things and use software and AI tools.

  • Have the ability to work well within teams.

  • Speak and write in fluent English (as our main language of doing business). Other languages are an advantage.

  • Be excited by the opportunity to work on new projects.

  • Have a strong work ethic.
Who is eligible
  • You will have a demonstrable interest in European regulation and policy.

  • You will have the relevant permissions to live and work in Belgium.

If successful, the traineeship will start in July 2026 and will last for a period of six months. The internship will take place in our Brussels office. Hanbury implements a flexible remote work policy.
