About this role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to design and implement cloud\-native, serverless architectures with a SaaS\-first approach, specializing in Order Management Systems (OMS) integration. You will be a hands\-on senior individual contributor responsible for building scalable, AI\-integrated systems across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). This role focuses on modern cloud infrastructure, AI/LLM integrations, OMS architecture, SaaS orchestration using n8n.io, and managing complex omnichannel order fulfilment systems.

You will architect and implement serverless solutions that connect our e\-commerce platforms (Shopify), warehouse and fulfilment systems, Order Management Systems, data pipelines, AI capabilities, and enterprise applications. This is a 100% hands\-on IC role focused on technical execution, system design, and driving innovation through cloud\-native, AI, and OMS technologies. You will set the technical direction for cloud infrastructure, AI integration, and OMS strategies while owning delivery of complex, production\-grade systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement serverless, cloud\-native architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP; prioritize managed services and SaaS solutions over custom infrastructure

Own Order Management System (OMS) architecture: design, implement, and optimise multi\-channel order management, order routing, fulfilment workflows, inventory synchronization, and order status management

Architect integrations between Shopify, OMS, warehouse management systems (WMS), fulfilment partners (247 Commerce, Mantle), and enterprise systems; ensure real\-time order data synchronization and visibility

Design and implement n8n.io workflows for complex OMS orchestration: order creation, fulfilment automation, inventory updates, shipping integration, and customer notification flows

Architect and build AI/LLM integrations: implement AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, etc.), vector databases, embeddings, and AI\-powered features for order intelligence, customer service, and demand forecasting

Own full\-stack cloud infrastructure: serverless compute (Lambda, Cloud Functions, Azure Functions), databases (managed SQL/NoSQL), messaging, caching, storage, and CDN

Write production\-quality code across application layers; spend 70\-80% of time hands\-on coding, architecture, and technical problem\-solving

Implement infrastructure\-as\-code to manage multi\-cloud deployments; design repeatable, scalable infrastructure patterns

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for serverless and containerized applications; automate deployment, testing, and monitoring across cloud platforms

Design observability solutions: implement logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting specifically for OMS and order fulfilment workflows

Integrate cloud systems with e\-commerce platforms (Shopify), PIM systems, loyalty programs, MS Fabric fulfilment partners, and enterprise data systems; manage complex multi\-channel data flows

Establish technical standards for cloud architecture, OMS design, AI integrations, and infrastructure\-as\-code; conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance

Optimise cloud costs and performance; identify inefficiencies and drive improvements to OMS reliability, scalability, and order processing speed

Participate in on\-call rotation; respond to production incidents including order fulfilment disruptions and critical cloud infrastructure issues

Stay current with cloud, AI, and OMS technologies; evaluate emerging services and tools for organisational adoption.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)

8\-12 years of professional software development with 5\+ years focused on cloud infrastructure and serverless architectures

3\+ years experience with Order Management Systems, e\-commerce order fulfilment, or retail systems integration

Expert\-level expertise with at least two major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP); strong understanding of multi\-cloud architecture patterns

Deep experience with serverless computing: Lambda/Cloud Functions/Azure Functions, API Gateway, event\-driven architectures, and serverless databases

Proven experience designing OMS architectures for multi\-channel retail operations; knowledge of order routing, fulfilment workflows, and inventory management

Hands\-on experience with Shopify or similar e\-commerce platforms; understanding of order API design and webhooks

Proven experience implementing AI/LLM integrations in production systems; comfort with OpenAI APIs, vector databases, embeddings, and generative AI applications

Hands\-on experience with n8n.io or similar workflow automation/integration platforms; ability to design and implement complex multi\-step workflows

Expert knowledge of infrastructure\-as\-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep) and GitOps practices

Strong full\-stack development skills: backend (Node.js, Python, or similar), APIs (REST, GraphQL), and frontend (JavaScript/TypeScript)

Expertise with managed databases: SQL (RDS, CloudSQL, Azure Database), NoSQL (DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, Firestore), and vector databases

Proficiency with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CodePipeline) and containerization (Docker, optional Kubernetes)

Experience with observability platforms (CloudWatch, Application Insights, Google Cloud Logging, Datadog) and distributed tracing

Demonstrated experience with SaaS platform integrations and API\-first architecture patterns

Strong problem\-solving skills; comfort with ambiguity and complex distributed systems

Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex cloud, AI, and OMS concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional; Azure Administrator or Developer certification

GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Data Engineer certification

Experience with Google Maps APIs, Routes API, and location\-based services for store locators, delivery optimization, and fulfilment routing

Experience with specific OMS platforms (SAP Commerce, NetSuite, modern cloud\-native OMS)

Knowledge of Shopify Plus or enterprise Shopify implementations

Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and fulfilment automation

Knowledge of Product Information Management (PIM) and product data integration

Experience building mobile applications or progressive web apps

Familiarity with headless CMS (Contentful, Sanity) and decoupled architectures

Experience with machine learning model deployment and MLOps practices

Knowledge of advanced n8n features and custom node development

Experience with compliance frameworks (PCI\-DSS, GDPR) and security best practices in cloud and retail environments
