Retail Team Leader – Co\-op Parc Derwen Job Summary

As a Retail Team Leader at Co\-op Parc Derwen, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operation of the store, leading colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and ensuring high standards across all areas of the business. You will act as a role model for the team, helping to create a welcoming shopping environment while driving sales, efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support team members during shifts.

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve customer queries or complaints professionally.

  • Ensure shelves are fully stocked, products are correctly displayed, and the store is clean and well\-presented.

  • Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and operational objectives.

  • Monitor stock levels, manage stock rotation, and minimise waste.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and health and safety procedures.

  • Handle cash management duties, including opening and closing procedures where required.

  • Train, coach, and develop colleagues to improve performance and confidence.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management activities.

  • Maintain security standards and report any incidents or concerns promptly.
Skills and ExperienceEssential
  • Previous retail experience, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast\-paced environment.

  • Good organisational and problem\-solving skills.

  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Desirable
  • Experience within convenience retail or food retail.

  • Knowledge of stock control and merchandising practices.

  • Experience with cash handling and store administration.
