Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join an established children’s residential home in Widnes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker, Senior Support Worker or Team Leader who is ready to take greater responsibility for leading shifts, supporting colleagues and maintaining high standards of care for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and provide day\-to\-day guidance to the residential care team.
- Support young people with EBD in a safe, consistent and child\-centred environment.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries are maintained at all times.
- Support the implementation of individual care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
- Guide and support Residential Support Workers throughout each shift.
- Promote positive relationships, independence and improved outcomes for young people.
- Complete accurate records, incident reports and effective handovers.
- Respond appropriately to challenging situations and support colleagues when required.
- Work closely with the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager and external professionals.
- Help maintain standards in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and Ofsted expectations.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
- Previous experience working within an Ofsted\-regulated children’s residential home.
- Experience as a Team Leader, Senior Support Worker, Senior Residential Support Worker, Shift Leader, or in a similar senior residential role.
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, complex needs and/or challenging behaviours.
- Good knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and professional boundaries.
- Confidence leading shifts and supporting other members of staff.
- Strong communication, organisation and record\-keeping skills.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
In addition, sleep\-ins are paid at £50 per sleep\-in, with approximately 5 sleep\-ins per month. Based on the typical sleep\-in pattern, the overall annual earnings are approximately £33,089 per year.
Shift pattern: 2 on / 4 off.
All appointments are subject to appropriate pre\-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
