Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Year 5 & 6 (Long Term)

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Start Date: May Half Term

Contract: Full-time, long-term

Zest Education is proud to be working with a supportive and forward-thinking primary school in Stoke-on-Trent to recruit a dedicated full-time Teaching Assistant to support across Year 5 and Year 6. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with upper KS2 pupils and wants to make a meaningful impact as they prepare for SATs and the transition to secondary school.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Support teaching and learning across Year 5 and Year 6.

  • Deliver targeted small-group interventions and 1:1 support, including SATs preparation.

  • Assist with core subjects such as reading, writing, and maths.

  • Help maintain a focused, positive, and well-organised classroom environment.

  • Support behaviour management, classroom routines, and wider school activities.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with KS2 pupils, ideally in upper KS2.

  • Is confident supporting learning in Years 5 and 6.

  • Communicates clearly and builds strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • Shows resilience, enthusiasm, and a proactive approach to supporting learning.

  • Is committed to full-time, long-term work and helping pupils achieve their best.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
