Starting September – Potential to Go Permanent

Reed Education are looking for enthusiastic, patient, and motivated individuals to join a primary-age specialist provision as Full-Time Teaching Assistants, starting September.

You do not need any previous school experience — full training, guidance, and on-the-job support will be provided. This is a fantastic opportunity for people who are new to education but keen to make a positive difference in children’s lives.

This long-term position also offers a genuine opportunity to become permanent for the right person.

About the Role

You will support children aged 4–11 who may have additional learning needs, developmental delays, or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. Your role will involve helping pupils build confidence, regulate emotions, engage with learning, and develop key skills.

People without prior experience often excel in this role due to their fresh perspective, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn.

Who This Role Is Perfect For

We welcome applications from:

  • Graduates from ANY subject area

  • Career changers

  • Individuals from customer service, retail, hospitality, care, sports coaching, youth work, support work, or administration

  • Anyone who enjoys helping others and wants a rewarding role with purpose

If you are kind, patient, and enjoy working with children, you will receive all the support you need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting children aged 4–11 across a mix of subjects

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support

  • Helping children develop literacy, numeracy, and communication skills

  • Assisting with social development and emotional regulation

  • Encouraging positive routines, independence, and confidence

  • Working closely with teachers and support staff

  • Creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment

Skills & Qualities We’re Looking For

You do not need school or teaching experience — but you should have:

  • Good communication and people skills

  • Patience, empathy, and a caring approach

  • A positive, upbeat attitude

  • Willingness to learn and take direction

  • Confidence interacting with children

  • Reliability and a strong work ethic

  • A genuine desire to help young people thrive

Training and guidance will be provided throughout your placement.

What Reed Education Offers

  • Competitive weekly pay

  • A dedicated consultant for ongoing support

  • Access to CPD and training courses

  • Experience within a rewarding educational setting

  • A real opportunity to move into a permanent role

  • Progression routes into teaching, SEN support, or early years roles
