Teaching Assistant
- Location: Rubery, Birmingham, B45
- Weekly Pay Rate: £500 - £525
- Start Date: ASAP
- Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
- Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Contract: Long-Term to Permanent
The school is looking for someone who can build strong relationships with pupils, promote positive behaviour and help children overcome barriers to learning. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive staff team where inclusion and pupil wellbeing are at the heart of the school's ethos.
The Role
- Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 classrooms
- Deliver targeted interventions for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
- Provide occasional 1:1 support for pupils requiring additional guidance
- Implement behaviour support strategies to promote engagement and positive outcomes
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development
- Work closely with class teachers to adapt learning activities where required
- Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and improve classroom participation
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and SENCO
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or above (essential)
- Previous experience working within a primary school setting
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
- Strong behaviour management skills and confidence managing challenging situations
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Team Teach, Positive Handling or other behaviour management training (highly desirable)
- Friendly and inclusive primary school in Rubery
