Location: Kingsway Park High School, Turf Hill Road, Rochdale, OL16 4XA

Salary: School Support Scale points 7 \- 11\. Actual £19,416 \- £20,695\.

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only, 32\.5 hrs a week

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team and play a key role in supporting students to develop the literacy skills needed to thrive both in school and beyond.

Working closely with teaching staff, the SENDCo and Literacy Lead, you will support students with lower reading ages, including those with SEND, through targeted interventions and in\-class support.

About the role

You will:

• Deliver literacy and reading interventions to individuals and small groups


• Support students in developing reading fluency, comprehension and vocabulary


• Help students overcome literacy barriers to learning across the curriculum


• Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning resources and strategies


• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to staff and leaders


• Promote a positive reading culture and encourage engagement with reading


• Support students with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs


• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

We are looking for someone who:

• Has GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above


• Has experience working with children or young people aged 1116


• Is passionate about reading, literacy and inclusion


• Can build positive relationships with students and motivate learners


• Has strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills


• Understands strategies to support literacy development and reading intervention


• Is patient, resilient and committed to helping every student succeed


• Is willing to engage in ongoing professional development
