Teaching Assistant – KS1 SEN Support – Year 1 & Year 2
Location: Upton Park, E13
Pay: £100 - £117 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 3.30pm)
Start Date: October 2026
We are currently recruiting for a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a lovely primary school in Upton Park (E13) from October.
This is a fantastic long-term opportunity supporting children with SEN across Key Stage 1 (Year 1 and Year 2). You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, providing additional support to children within the classroom and helping them to engage with their learning, develop confidence and become as independent as possible.
The school is a beautiful, welcoming primary school with a fantastic leadership team and genuinely supportive staff who work closely together to ensure every child receives the best possible support.
The Role
- Providing additional support to children with SEN across Year 1 and Year 2.
- Supporting pupils within the classroom and throughout the school day.
- Helping children to access learning and participate positively in classroom activities.
- Encouraging confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide appropriate support.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Supporting the wider classroom environment and contributing as part of a supportive school team.
- Experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN Support Assistant or Support Worker would be beneficial.
- A calm, patient and nurturing approach.
- Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, committed and able to build positive relationships with both pupils and staff.
- Someone who is enthusiastic about working with younger children and supporting their development.
- Long-term, full-time role with an October start.
- Competitive daily rate of £100 - £117, depending on experience.
