Teacher Year 5 Maternity Cover

Job Overview
We are a very friendly village school with lovely children and staff. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher to cover Year 5 classes on a maternity leave basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and supporting students' academic and personal development. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to contribute to a vibrant school community during a temporary period of absence.

Duties

• Plan and deliver effective lessons in accordance with the national curriculum for Year 5 pupils.


• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.


• Manage classroom behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies to create a safe and respectful environment.


• Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those requiring additional support.


• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.


• Organise and supervise extracurricular activities and support students during break times as required.


• Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and academic achievement in compliance with school policies.

• Proven experience in early childhood education or primary teaching, ideally within Key Stage 2\.


• Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment.


• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging pupils, colleagues, and parents effectively.


• Ability to plan stimulating lessons that cater to different learning styles and abilities.


• Organised and proactive approach to classroom management and administrative tasks.


• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the class during the maternity cover period.
