Innovate Dorset is a Dorset based Alternative Provision offering support to young people to enable them to re\-engage in all forms of education across the BCP and Dorset area.

We are recruiting due to expansion and continued success; we are looking for talented people to join our locally renowned multi\-disciplinary team. Our team includes qualified teachers, youth workers and youth engagement workers, who are passionate about building young people's confidence to re\-engage in learning.

We have Hubs in Wimborne and Sherborne ; we are looking for the right person to join us in our Sherborne Hub (DT9 4JN).

We require a qualified teacher who wishes to work in our successful and expanding Alternative Provision. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi\-disciplinary team, undertaking varied roles within the business:

1\) Delivering bespoke education packages including basic literacy and numeracy functional skills to vulnerable young people who are currently unable to access a suitable education, or young people with an EHCP awaiting a specialist placement.

2\) Supporting young people to engage in activities that promote emotional and physical wellbeing, as well as building important life and social skills.

3\) Have a flexible approach in engaging young people and children in formal and informal learning.

The successful applicant will be empathetic, patient and understanding, and be passionate about empowering young people to improve engagement and enthusiasm towards learning by using innovative strategies. Teachers with a background in youth work or working in a Pupil Referral Unit is desirable but not imperative.

We are proud to be working with young people of school age and beyond who may present with challenging behaviours, learning difficulties, complex family issues, emotional and mental health needs, or a combination of these factors. Innovate pride themselves in delivering a bespoke and inclusive service enabling young people to find their passion for learning. The successful candidate could find themselves teaching online, in a young person’s home, in libraries, community centres or at our new project venue in Sherborne. As such you will require your own car with business insurance (mileage is paid) and understand that you will be driving young people between locations and be prepared to work across BCP and Dorset.

Candidates must have Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) or equivalent.

We provide training through Pearsons as well as Functional Skills.

Innovate Dorset Ltd are offering a 38\.5 \-Week, term\-time only, permanent position Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:00\. Tutors will benefit from allocated admin time each week to support with planning and report writing. We focus on work life balance and flexibility for those general life occurrences!
