Academics are working on behalf of a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Hertford to recruit a passionate and talented Teacher of Music for a permanent position starting in September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher or an experienced Music teacher to join a supportive Performing Arts faculty within a mixed secondary school and sixth form setting.

The school is committed to delivering a broad and engaging curriculum and places high value on creativity, enrichment and student participation in the arts. Music plays an important role within the wider school community, with opportunities for performance, extracurricular involvement and cross-curricular collaboration.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent


• Have experience teaching Music across Key Stages 3 and 4


• Be passionate about inspiring students through practical and creative learning


• Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills


• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

Salary will be paid in line with the Main Pay Scale to Upper Pay Scale (M1 to UPS3), depending on experience.
