We are recruiting a Tax Senior for a well-established and growing accountancy and business advisory firm based in Worcester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to manage their own client portfolio while gaining exposure to both compliance and advisory work within a supportive and forward-thinking practice.
This role is ideal for an established Tax Senior looking to broaden their technical expertise, or a tax professional seeking greater client responsibility and long-term career progression.
The Role
As a Tax Senior, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, acting as the main point of contact for tax-related matters and ensuring a high standard of client service is delivered at all times.
You will prepare and review personal self-assessment tax returns, associated claims, and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance obligations are met accurately and within deadlines. The role will also involve liaising directly with HMRC regarding enquiries, compliance matters, and penalty notices.
Working closely with Managers and Partners, you will provide advice on a range of day-to-day tax matters and support the delivery of tax planning projects for individuals and owner-managed businesses. This will provide valuable exposure to advisory work and opportunities to further develop your technical knowledge.
You will also prepare GP Type 1 and Type 2 superannuation certificates where required and assist with client queries throughout the year.
In addition, you will support and mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and helping to maintain high standards of compliance and client service across the department.

About You
You will be ATT qualified or qualified by experience, with tax experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment.
You will have experience managing client relationships, preparing personal tax returns, and advising clients on a range of tax matters. Experience dealing directly with HMRC and handling compliance matters is also important.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines are essential. You will be comfortable working independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
You will possess a proactive and analytical mindset, with a genuine interest in developing your technical expertise and progressing your career within a growing professional firm.
