Direct Tax Manager

Join one of Yorkshire’s largest in\-house tax teams and help shape the future of tax at one of the UK’s leading supermarket retailers.
As a Tax Manager, you will support the Corporate Tax Senior Manager and Head of Tax across a broad range of tax matters. This is a highly varied role where strong project management and problem\-solving skills are vital. While experience across multiple tax areas is beneficial, it is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
------------------------
The role includes:
- Supporting the business on employment tax matters, including the management of PAYE Settlement Agreement submissions, advising on Benefits in Kind, Off\-Payroll Working, National Minimum Wage compliance, overseas matters.
- Supporting on group tax governance matters, for example, Senior Accounting Officer requirements, Tax Strategy, Corporate Criminal Offence processes.
- Managing corporation tax matters for a sub\-group of UK procurement companies. This includes UK tax compliance but also involves managing overseas tax advisors in relation to overseas offices.
- Support on property tax matters, including SDLT and related corporation tax considerations.
About You

We’re looking for someone who:
- Is ACA/CTA qualified (or equivalent)
- Is an experienced project manager
- Thrives working in a fast\-paced, commercial retail environment
- Is a strong communicator with a collaborative mindset
- Is looking to learn and develop within a supportive team
- Has significant practical tax technical experience, including interpreting and applying UK tax legislation
